I read an article that a welfare recipient makes an average of $21.00 per hour. This is more than average middle class. What is wrong with this picture? They don't pay taxes and for every child they have, they get more money. Pennsylvania they get $15,000 a year for the first child for day care, don't pay taxes, if they have another child, that gets raised. The whole reason on welfare in the first place is cannot afford the child they have. Benefits should not be raised if have more kids. A girl I know is on welfare in Minnesota, she gets food stamps, free day care, discount housing and her boyfriend lives with her and makes $60,000 a year. They won't get married, because then her benefits go away. Can you imagine how much money would save if the system were overhauled?
