On Sunday October 2nd Kayden Culp, a 10-year-old special-needs child with a hearing impairment, was set on fire by older children in central Texas. He was severely burned, requiring being air-lifted to the hospital. Before being placed into a medially-induced coma Kayden told his parents that another boy "did this to me, he set me on fire." A juvenile has been charged with first degree arson. It seems as if this is a lesser charge than might be appropriate, at least to many in the lay public.
