Todays trend in music toward the aggrandizement of violence, drugs/sex, coupled with the degradation of women, is damaging an entire generation of young people. Music with tones of rape, violence in communities, hate crimes, and terrorism should not be accessible radio content where young people are exposed. We are advocating the prohibition of explicit lyric rated music/content, along with corresponding clean radio versions involving drug distribution and/or use, degradation of women, depiction of explicit sex, violence, or promote hate towards law enforcement from being aired on public radio stations. American youth deserve the opportunity to make uplifting social impacts by having the freedom to select music that will positively influence their actions and future.
