When providing free breakfast and lunch at schools make sure the children who qualify have enough protein.

Created by L.M. on December 01, 2011

The low income children in public schools in America qualify for free breakfast and free lunch, but the breakfasts consist of 13 g of sugar and 1 or 2 grams of protein. A childs brain cannot grow properly is they do not have enough protein. The lunches need to have more protein, as well. How do we expect our children to concentrate when they start their day at 8 AM with a sugar and carbohydrates. If we promise to feed the children, let's give them food to nurish them, not just feed them empty calories. They only have one chance to grow healthy minds and bodies.
