There are many students loans that are in default. Offsetting a student entire federal tax refunds put a lot of people into hardship and despair. If offsetting is going to be used to collect defaulted student loans, I think we could help many by only taking a percentage of what the refund would be. Most people would like to pay their students loans because not only does it take away from them receiving their tax refunds, but also most people lose government jobs because they owe taxes and their loan is in default. When the rehabilitation program is used by defaulted students monies that have been offset is not taken in consideration for the rehabilitation program. I think it should be taken into consideration, this would help people come out of default quicker and back to repaying.
