Why are celebrities allowed to commit illegal acts and get a mere slap on the wrist when a regular person can go to jail for something very minor, such as marijuana? The most obvious case right now is Lindsay Lohan, however a number of other celebrities have been given very preferential treatment compared to regular folks.
My understanding is that the law is the same for everyone; like equal housing, lets have equal opportunity for going to jail. Dont have enough jail space? Stop sending in minor offenders.
Lets end this preferential treatment.
