Many Federal, State, and local city agencies/ department require passing a Polygraph as a condition of employment. This practice doesn't make any sense since the Polygraph test is not back by any modern science. Failing one of these "test" often black lists individuals from employment in other agencies for years. Polygraph tests are not admissible in U.S. courts so why should they be a prerequisite for employment? Many people dedicate a large part of their lives to military service and education to build their resumes and one day transition to a Federal, State, or local city agency/department just to get denied by failing a polygraph test. The people admitting these polygraphs do not even get educated at an accredited university.
