The United States currently sends millions of dollars in aid to countries which are not making any meaningful effort to combat sexual slavery and human trafficking within their borders. Such countries include Algeria, Zimbabwe, and others defined as "Tier 3 countries" in the US State Department's "Trafficking In Persons Report 2012". As the most powerful nation on Earth, the United States can induce these countries to effect changes by removing its financial support for their inefficient and/or corrupt governments. We, the undersigned, believe the United States has a moral imperative to do so in the support of freedom across the world, and hope that our petition will encourage the Obama administration to take unprecedented action on behalf of the voiceless victims of trafficking.
