The various military operations undertaken in Uganda such as Operation Lightning Thunder and others have made a dent in the LRA forces, but they have also taken a massive toll on civilians. No more innocent blood should be shed, on either side.
What Ugandans need right now isn't for us to go in guns blazing. They need housing, food, and education. This petition is a call to withdraw the armed troops sent to Uganda, and to discontinue military aid in the country. Instead, we should assist Uganda in peace talks with the LRA forces, and help rebuild the countless damaged communities.
Here's to hoping that Uganda can be a country where children must no longer live in fear, but can expect a bright future ahead of them.
