Last spring, to account for the Republican Senate, Obama nominated the centrist judge Merrick Garland to replace Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court. The Senate refused to do their duty to hold confirmation hearings by insisting the next President should make the appointment. However, if Clinton wins, and threatens to nominate a more liberal replacement, the Senate may suddenly change their mind and confirm Garland. The Senate should not have it both ways. This abuse of power that has deprived our country from a fully functional Supreme Court should be stopped now and discouraged in future. Withdraw the nomination before Election Day!
