Withdraw support from Sen. Feinstein's bill and foster an setting where ending gun violence can be reasonably discused

Mr. President, You asked Americans to begin a real debate about ending gun violence but in the next breath called upon congress to quickly pass a ban on assault rifles. We the undersigne, feel that asking for opinions while your mind appears to be already made up sends a poor message especially to the tens of millions of gun owners who would like to have their voices fairly heard. Additionally the newly proposed laws contain provisions that many consider unjust and unnecessary. In a rush to paste a band aid on a grievous wound we risk trampling on rights that a great many people hold sacred while ignoring good ideas that the majority of Americans feel will make a real difference.We ask you to please be mindful of the opinions of gun owners and help lead the way in our quest to be heard.
