On Dec 31, 2011, President Obama signed NDAA. Sect. 1021 allows for the the indefinite detention of American Citizens who have committed "...a beligerant act..." In March 2012, Suit was brought against President Obama in Federal District Court to suspend Sect 1021 and 1022 of the act. Judge Katherine Forest ruled that Sect 1021 was unconstitutional as the Lawyers for the Defense could not or would not define a "beligerant act". A permanent injunction was issued by the court Sept 12, 2012. Defense attorneys immediately appealed and won a stay of the court's order until the appeal is heard in December 2012. The President issued a statement when signing this bill that he had serious reservations about Sect 1021. If genuine, he should not have appealed, and should withdraw the appeal.
