to allow terminal ill patient to naturally die without prolonging life by artificial means, such as mechanical ventilator, hemodialysis, aggressive treatments, constant blood transfusions. etc. when the patient has no quality of life, brain death, or is kept alive by other means. There are patients hospitalized left or forgotten by families or kept alive for personal or financial gain, sometimes against their own wishes, the patient suffers, trapped in their own body, unable to express feelings or sensations.
By doing this, taxpayers money can be used wisely by increasing medical funds for those that can benefit from more treatment options.
The truth is that those that are practically dead receive more benefits than those who really need it.
