Our executive and legislative bodies have been extraordinarily ineffective over the past several years, divided by partisan bickering, refusing to compromise, and thereby spurning their responsibility to effectively govern in the best interests of the People. The recent lack of a compromise on sequestration is a prime example of our government's inefficaciousness.
We the People hereby request that all salaries by Congress, and by senior members of the Executive, be forfeit for the year 2013. Until our government officials can agree to work together in solving the manifold problems that our nation and people face on a daily basis, our elected officials do not deserve to be paid. Please, change this terrible tide. Demonstrate what we are capable of, as one proud, united people - Americans.
