I just read a piece that Oklahoma has pass what they call the "Scientific Education and Academic Freedom Act," which allows the teaching of creationism as science and, "I proposed this bill because there are teachers and students who may be afraid of going against what they see in their textbooks," (Rep. Gus Blackwell). This is a clear statement that Oklahoma wants to prevent facts from educating and helping to form a students opinion. This bill, as stated by its author, does not encourage critical thinking and embracing facts, rather it allows people to proceed through the secondary, formative educational structure with freedom to ignore facts because they don't like them. Creationism is not science, there is absolutely no evidence to support any claims of creationism.
