Withhold Paychecks From Members of the United State's Senate Until a Hearing on Merrick Garland is Held

Created by T.B. on May 31, 2016

The appointment of a Supreme Court Justice is an event of major significance in American
politics. Each appointment is of consequence because of the enormous judicial power the
Supreme Court exercises as the highest appellate court in the federal judiciary.

President Obama has fulfilled his duty to nominate a Supreme Court Justice to fill Justice Scalia's vacancy and is now waiting for the United States Senate to do its job in coming to a decision on who is best fit for that vacancy. As stated, this is the Senate's job to do and it is not being done. This petition proposes that members of the the United States Senate should not receive paychecks until a hearing for Merrick Garland is held.
