Withhold the salary of Congress should the Debt Ceiling not be raised in a timely fashion.

Created by C.S. on January 09, 2013

As it is necessary from time to time for the US to raise the Debt Ceiling so that it can pay its obligations, the Debt Ceiling should not be held hostage to ideological whims. As such, should members of Congress choose to do so, any salary should be withheld from Congress as the first course of action in any necessitated suspension of payments caused by the Debt Ceiling being held hostage for ideological gain. We the People of the United States petition that under no circumstances should Congress be paid before any other governmental obligations that have been previously incurred and that Congress forfeit whatever pay they would have received while payment of other obligations have been suspended.
