work on and develop programs to assist in diversifying the occupational and professional demographics of Congress.

Created by M.S. on March 03, 2013

Currently, there is an overwhelming dominance of wealthy lawyers and business owners that reside in Congress. However, the demographics of their professions do not adequately represent the American population. In order to achieve a more thorough and transparent representation of the American population, I propose national programs to be created that will encourage individuals from other professions to enter the political realm, such as firemen and women, police officers, teachers, community leaders, among many others professions and occupations.
In doing so, the transparency and simplicity necessary for a smooth and properly functioning government will improve drastically.
