After watching a disturbing story on Last Week with John Oliver I learned that police agencies have the right to take items when there was no evidence of crime. That items can be sued. That said items were guilty until proven innocent. Families losing homes for a child with $40 in drugs, a man loses the money he borrowed to start a business (the American Dream!) because he might be using the money to buy drugs! How is this happening in America? Only the rich can afford to fight to get their items back. This is unfair to regular people just trying to live their lives. Items do not commit crimes- people do! And if there is no crime they need to get their items back. The police are here to protect and serve not shake down to get "toy" money. Please make this a priority.
