While there are large numbers of guns in the general population and attempts to limit them meet with resistance and constitutional scrutiny it is time that the government of these United States act to limit, not the weapons, but the ammunition used. Since a firearm without ammunition is useless we petition the government to take steps to limit the availability of ammunition and the components used in its making. Furthermore, purchases of ammunition should be dealt with in a similar manner to purchases of Sudafed - registered, limited and subject to investigation when large quantities are purchased. Limiting the ammunition will limit the damage done on a daily basis by firearms throughout the country.
