There exists a need to streamline, enhance, eliminate waste, and avoid duplication of the functions and delivery of services by the Federal Government, while achieving cost savings to the Federal Budget. This petition seeks to establish a Sunset Commission (similar to Texas), which would conduct a regular assessment of all Federal Agencies and Departments in order to answer a few fundamental questions: 1. Does the agency’s functions continue to be needed? 2. Are there any inefficiencies in carrying out the agency’s functions? 3. Is there any potential duplication of public services or programs? 4. Are there ways to improve/streamline the delivery of services/functions by the Agency?
Once a review is completed, Congress would be required to follow up with legislative action.
