work with Congress to make baseball's Opening Day a paid federal holiday.

Created by A.R. on April 01, 2013

Baseball is the national pastime, but most people are required to work on Opening Day. Congressional designation as a paid federal holiday would allow many government workers, as well as many in the private sector whose companies follow federal holiday schedules, to support their local teams, and local economies, by attending games or gathering in local bars, restaurants, or other venues, to watch games. Therefore, we the people, petition the White House to engage with Congress to create a federal holiday for the people to watch the national pastime.
