This petition highly encourages the administration to work with Congress to pass common sense gun safety laws such as mandatory background checks, mandatory biometric trigger locks,where only the registered owner can use by unlocking with their fingerprint, keeping it from firing if stolen or used against you. Also closing the gun show loophole, mandating online sales of ammo and weapons to be shipped to a licensed seller upon pickup. This petition also encourages a database of gun and ammo sales. A federal 10 day waiting period is also encouraged as well as updating the definition of what an assault weapon is. This petition was written so that the 2nd amendment is kept original and every law abiding citizen may keep their guns.
