Work With Congress To Remove "Sporting Purposes" Language From Federal Gun Laws And Regulations

Created by J.L. on August 15, 2015

Whereas any reasonable reading of the historical record clearly reveals that the concerns which motivated our nation's Founders to recognize the individual Right to Bear Arms prominently in the United States' Bill of Rights included national defense against foreign invaders, personal self-defense of the individual against criminals, and the individual and combined resistance of the Citizenry against tyrannical actions on the part of our own government,

We the undersigned do hereby petition the Obama Administration and the United States Congress to work together to remove all "sporting purposes" language from federal firearms laws and regulations, and to ensure that sporting utility or lack thereof is never again a basis for restricting ownership of any firearm.
