work with congress to repeal the 16th Amendment to the Constitution and replace with a fixed rate flat tax

Created by J.W. on December 30, 2012

The 16th Amendment to the Constitution has resulted in the Federal Government having no ability to constrain its excesses. Politicians utilize government largesse to create a constituency that will re-elect them to office. The current system of taxation makes the government the master of the people verse the people being the masters of the government. The 16th Amendment should be repealed and replaced by a flat fixed rate tax that can only be changed by a 2/3rds majority national referendum. Additionally the Constitutional Amendment to repeal and replace the 16th Amendment must require the Federal Government to have a balanced budget with no off book funds or debt i.e. Social Security Trust Fund and a return to the Gold Standard for US currency.
