I petition the White House and the Congress to change the Federal tax code back to the way that it was many years ago, in that, unemployment compensation, was NOT taxable at the Federal level. I believe it was a mistake to tax insurance payments that recipients receive to feed, provide clothing, and shelter for themselves and their families in their time of need.
Unemployment payments to those out of work through no fault of their own should be tax-free.
