After the events in Ferguson, MO and in New York involving a police officer's actions leading to the death of an unarmed individual and the subsequent decision by the local prosecuting attorney not to file charges or pursue a case that led to a grand jury indictment and trial, it appears clear that some prosecutors are not interested in seeking justice when the possible offender is a police officer. There may be a bias based on various work-related interactions. A better way to handle allegations of police misconduct would be to have the matter adjudicated in a district court or by a special prosecutor who does not have daily interactions with the police officer or department.
