To The Obama Administration,
I wish to start a petition to help institute an illegal firearm/weapons buyback program.
Buying illegal firearms off the streets of America would help prevent crime, particularly in inner cities and impoverished areas.
My goal is not to create further regulation on law-abiding citizens, but to deter gang violence and acts of terrorism on fellow Americans.
Buying back illegal weapons on a "Don't ask, don't tell" basis and granting amnesty for possession of illegal weapons would be beneficial for many Americans. Statistics show that violent crime with firearms is much higher under the poverty line, and this may create an incentive of aid to many of these people. In addition, it may bring a chance to take weapons off our streets.
