Work to keep low carbon sources of energy like nuclear from being shut down

Created by N.T. on April 16, 2016

Across this country in the last few years, a number of nuclear reactors have been shut down, and many of these closures were in part or mostly due to economic pressures from cheap fossil fuels.

The US Government should investigate ways to make sure we grow the amount of low carbon energy sources, and keep the ones we already have operating.

Diablo Canyon in California is one example of a nuclear facility that may be closed; in 2014, it produced more energy than all of the wind turbines in the entire state.

DOE Secretary Moniz recently said, "We certainly believe that nuclear power has to be on the table to reach the low carbon goals we're looking at."

Find ways to save these resources before they are shut down for good!
