We are a growing and aging country. Around the world, former third and second world countries are lapping us in there use of technology in infrastructure. The use of telephone poles and wires above ground are a safety hazard to all during storms and with international threats. We waste billions in fixing lines and waiting for power to be returned. Additionally, this long term project would create jobs and overall improve our safety. Perhaps even more importantly, we must update and modernize our power grid. We have the technology- we must use it. We are working on borrowed time.
