Every year there are plenty of women/men that come to this land of opportunity because they married an H1-B visa holder.
Most of them are highly qualified in their respective fields. Many of them enroll in study programs while in USA to further enhance their skills and to find a job. After 2 years/4 years of study when they are ready to start the job search, they face the unfortunate part of being a dependent. They do not have work permit despite their education and qualification.
Without this there are only 2 options: We go back to our country of citizenship OR convert visa to F1 just for work permit.
My appeal is very simple, please provide them the work permit based on their merit. At the very least for the spouses of H1-B visa holders who have started the green card application.
