We propose that video/print advertisements for products intended for human consumption include:
1) Surgeon General's Warning that consuming more than the Recommended Daily Allowance of calories, saturated fats, etc can lead to obesity and obesity related conditions (heart disease, stroke, and Type 2 Diabetes)
2) Vital statistics of the Nutritional Information of the products/meals portrayed--to include at a minimum Calories, Sat Fat, Carbs, Protein and %RDA
Per the Center for Disease Control's website, no State has a population with less than 20% reported as obese, while the National Average is 35.7%--Tobacco is no longer the #1 health concern
Advertisements prey on their audiences using images to provoke a response to consume--by adding nutritional info/SG warning, this may be reduced.
