The sequester cuts enacted on March 1, 2013 are hurting our economy while doing NOTHING to create jobs. Now, with the hurried Air Travel bill just passed on April 26, 2013, Congress is picking sequestration winners and losers in a piecemeal fashion. The "winners" are those with the most political clout, while the losers are the most vulnerable among us (children, seniors, disabled, etc.)
This rush to austerity is DANGEROUS for our country and based in part on false/faulty economic analysis (Reinhardt-Rogoff). These policies have FAILED in Europe. Why are we determined to go down this path?
Most sane economists agree the most pressing need now is stimulating the economy to help create jobs. That's what we need to be doing.
PLEASE repeal the sequester and turn your attention to jobs.
