Work with Congress to repeal the Windfall Elimination and Government Pension Offset provisions of Social Security(SS) which discriminate against teachers by reducing their otherwise entitled SS benefit by 2/3 of their teacher retirement. A SS benefit recipient who has NEVER worked will receive 100% of their spousal SS benefit while a teacher who also qualifies for the spousal benefit has his/her SS benefit greatly reduced. This penalizes teachers who have worked hard for many years.
