Work toward the release/trial of prisoners from Guantanamo Bay

Created by W.A. on April 25, 2013

The prisoners of Guantanamo Bay should at least be tried for whichever crimes they were charged with. The Bush administration started this detention camp to store prisoners of the War on Terror. A large number of the prisoners placed there since its establishment in 2002 have never been tried. Some haven't even been charged with a crime. The Bush administration created this camp because they determined it to be outside of the American judicial jurisdiction. They also claimed the prisoners had none of the rights granted by the Geneva Convention. Though the Supreme Court later overruled these statements, the other governmental branches have failed to recognize this. End the dehumanizing and demoralizing suffering of the prisoners of Gitmo.
