Work towards the lifting of the US Embargo against Cuba.

Created by R.A. on September 03, 2012

The U.S. embargo against Cuba is an obsolete remainder of the Cold War. The right-wing Cuban lobby, mainly composed of the community of Cuban exiles living in the U.S, who are mainly descendants of Cubans who thrived economically under the Batista regime and the help of the U.S. foreign policy of imperial hegemony in the Caribbean and Latin America, have been so far successful in keeping the pressure on U.S. policy-makers, in order to strangle the Cuban economy, and eventually bring to the knees a system of government that, despite its flaws, still enjoys the support of the majority of the population in the island. Their agenda is not to reinstate democracy in Cuba, but to reinstate capitalism and class privileges, of which democracy is for them just a pretext.
