work towards passing a law that would seek to ban gay conversion therapy practices in the United States

This petition is to ask the Obama Administration to work towards passing a law or a set of laws that will outlaw gay conversion therapy practices. This would as a result stop parents/guardians from being allowed to submit their children to these types of dangerous health care services.These unnecessary and damaging forms of therapy have been ruled as harmful to many youth throughout the United States by a number of health organizations such as the American Psychological Association. In recent months the state of California passed a law that outlawed these types of practices and this petition is to ask the President and his Administration to work towards passing a similar law at the Federal level.
