President Obama has been urged to take executive action on gun control.
We urge the president to:
a) Let the legislative body do its job
b) Enforce existing laws
One action is to redefine "gun dealer" in an effort to blanket more transactions with background checks.
Joe Biden has said
"...regarding the lack of prosecutions on lying on Form 4473s, we simply don’t have the time or manpower to prosecute everybody who lies on a form, that checks a wrong box, that answers a question inaccurately."
Jalita Johnson plead guilty to falsifying form 4473 to buy a gun for felon Marcus Wheeler. Wheeler used it kill Omaha Police Officer Kerrie Orozco. Obama-nominated U.S. District Judge Eleanor L. Ross sentenced Johnson to one year probation.
If you're not going to enforce the law, why make more?
