Workers Compensation for elder care employees

We ask that the administration mandate that assisted living / elder care facilities carry workers compensation insurance for ALL of their employees. Shockingly very few of them do and several of them are proud of this fact. One facility covers their construction workers but leaves their health care workers in the cold if they are injured on the job or attacked by a resident. Yes, it does happen.
The employees who work in these jobs are poorly paid, usually less than $10.00 an hour, cannot afford to see the doctor on their own, and do not have health insurance. If they did the claim would be kicked back as being Workers Comp.
These facilities will not protect their workers voluntarily. They make enough money to carry such coverage. They must be required to do so.
