The American public is working harder than ever, yet they are doing it for less and less benefits. At a time when corporate America is growing increasingly richer, it is time to give the American people what the United States government has had all along- paid holidays. July 4th is a time that America celebrates her history and independence- yet the majority of Americans will be at work that day. They will not get to spend it celebrating with their family and friends. Memorial Day and Labor Day are also holidays designed to celebrate America and her people- yet the majority of those people will spend the day breaking their backs to make some company richer. Why should the government be off with pay when we the people will be working and many with no extra pay?
