to write and pass a law granting teachers and other school officials the right to carry a gun on and in school property.

As an education student and a mother to two children, this is now, more than ever a pressing concern. Taking guns away from law abiding citizens will not end gun related violence. Quite the opposite is true. If law abiding citizens loose the right to own and carry weapons that they use to not only protect themselves, their families, and even strangers, violence will surely escalate. Teachers and other school officials should be allowed to carry legally owned and registered guns on and in school grounds. Educators are in charge of educating and protecting students while they are at school, and being able to protect them from armed assailants should be allowed and legal.
