At the moment health care professionals are free to charge what they want for treatments without telling you the cost until after the treatment has been given. This has created a inflationary effect and a vast difference in pricing in different hospitals for the same treatment. This is also contradictory to the free market mentality where we should be allowed to shop for the best prices for different treatments and appointments. This is the only industry where the price of a commodity is not known until after the commodity has been bought. I propose a law that would force health care professionals of all types to post their treatment and appointment pricing online.
