XL PIPELINE TO MID/PAC. NW, NOT TX - 1700 MILES OF RISK/COST FOR REFINERY NEAR/SELL TO CANADA/USA-NW - COMMON SENSE, NO?

Created by S.H. on January 26, 2012

Our government initiated the XL Pipeline project with Canada for oil. The oil is now going to China. Most believe the project will be revived. Why in world would our nation risk (and pay for) an additional 1700+ miles of pipeline to ship the oil to Texas with low unemployment/gas prices? Why on a national security level concentrate our refineries and have an extra 1700 miles of pipeline & watershed areas for terrorism, ecological disaster, etc? DC can/should reach out to bring together CA/WA/OR/MT/ID/NV/ND/SD/WY/CO to complete the XL Pipeline connected to a modern refinery just over the Canada border using state bonds & fed $. The result is safer, cleaner, discounted fuel tied to a contract with these states good neighbor, Canada, in an area that needs lower fuel prices.
