I was taught about slavery in school. I was taught that slavery is wrong, and that the reason we learn about it is so that history does not repeat itself. I've seen racism my whole life, first and secondhand. I am completely against it, because you cannot judge the character of a person solely based on the color of their skin. Every person's brain is different, and so is every heart. To deny the rights to those just because of the color of their skin, or because of the religion that they were raised in, is morally and logically wrong. You cannot look at a person you have never met, from the outside, and tell me who they are on the inside. It's impossible. With the progress that society has made up to 2016, we cannot take a step back from equality. You are innocent until proven guilty.
