The 13th amendment states "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, EXCEPT as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.". This petition is to CHANGE the 13th amendment of the United States constitution and remove the phrase "except as punishment for a crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted.". America is better than this! We can no longer do this to our own people for any reason! The People will no longer contribute to their own oppression! #PrisonStrike!
