Taxes are necessary to run a country. However, is the country being ran the way that you would like. Power is supposed to be with the people rather than with a select few. If we are given the decision to choose where are taxes go on our W-4 then the people would have more power than just a vote once every term. Place categories such as national defense, welfare, environmental and etc on the W-4 form. You will have to divide your tax options with a minimum of three choices. By giving this power back to the people you are giving politicians a budget to follow. Then government programs will be managed correctly. Remember that you are paying the same amount of taxes with the option to choose where they end up.
